Install the time clock

The time clock link is one that you, with a manager or owner role, need to retrieve and save in a web browser on your chosen device.

To retrieve the link, click the gear (General Settings) in the top-right corner, scroll down in the side menu until you see the heading Add-ons, and click Time Clock.

💡 If you see neither Add-ons nor Time Clock under General Settings, please contact our support at support@timezynk.com so we can enable the time clock on your account.

You can find the link to the time clock at the very top of the page Time Clock. Copy it and save it to a web browser on your chosen device, and you’re done!

Lock the time clock on one or more devices

If you want the time clock to not be usable on any other device than the one on site, you can lock the time clock.

💡If you have a manager or owner role, you need to be logged in to your Timezynk profile on the device that the time clock will be locked on.

To lock the time clock, go to the same page where you retrieved the link to the time clock.

Under the heading Approved devices, you can see whether the time clock is already locked on any device, and you can also add or remove devices here.

To lock the time clock on a new device, enter the name of the device in the field that says Select a name and click the button Add this device—and you’re all set!

In the table under the heading Approved units you will see:

a)    the name of the unit;

b)   the date and time when it was added;

c)    the date and time of the most recent login;

d)   the name of the person who added the unit.

Set the time clock according to your needs

You have a few options when it comes to the time clock’s functionality.

Option 1 You can allow employees to clock in/out according to schedule.
Option 2 You can set the time clock to record worked time in a time report from the moment the employee clocks in until the moment the employee clocks out.
Option 3 You can set the time clock to encourage reporting deviations if the employee works more or less than the booked time. In that case, up to three time reports are created per day per employee.

Option 1

On the page where you retrieved the link to the time clock, you will find Clock in/out according to schedule under the heading Settings.

Click on the field that says Hide and select Show instead.

Alternative 2

On the page where you retrieved the link to the time clock, you will find Deviation interval for in-/out-punching under the heading Settings. Make sure that Disabled is set in all 4 fields.

Then navigate to Required fields in case of deviation and make sure that no required fields are added.

Alternative 3

On the page where you retrieved the link to the time clock, you will find Deviation range for in-/out-punching under the heading Settings. In the available fields, select the time interval that employees can clock in/out within without having to report a deviation. A common approach is to set 15 minutes before the shift start time and 15 minutes after the shift end time.

Then navigate to Mandatory fields for deviations, press the field where it says Add field, select the option that employees will need to fill in if their time report deviate from the schedule, and click the button Add. Our recommendation is to choose Time code because time codes are linked to your payroll agreement, which means that less manual effort is required when approving time reports.

Add personal identity number to employee profiles

Before you get started with the time clock, make sure all your employees have a personal identity number on their profile. Otherwise, the system will prompt each employee who is missing a personal identity number to enter it at their first login.

To add a personal identity number, click Users in the main menu on the left and press the pen to the left of the employee whose profile you want to edit. Enter the personal identity number in the Personal number field and click Save.
